Auctions can be confusing at first. Take your time to visit various auctions and get acquainted with the entire auction process from product selection to bidding process.

8.) Placing newspaper ads

Another way to get more products to resell on Ebay is placing ads in your local newspapers. For example you sell non-fiction books. You can place an ad stating that you are interested in buying non-fiction books. If you receive a good response, you should continue running your ad.

It is important to ask right questions when you receive a phone call. You must inquire about product's condition, exact description, quantity offered, price expectations and so on. Then you can determine if the offer is worth a trip. You don't want to drive somewhere for an hour just to find out that product is damaged or price is unreasonable.

In addition, I suggest that you read for sale section of your local newspapers and sites like Craig's List that offer various items for sale in your local area. Occasionally you can find some good bargains there.

9.) Repair, restore, refurbish

Let's say you are good at fixing and refurbishing cell phones. You can buy broken cell phones for next to nothing, fix them and resell on Ebay. The same is true about other products such as PCs, laptops, hand held devices... In addition, some people specialize in restoring rare items such as old furniture, books and clocks.

You have to check Ebay prices for repaired and refurbished products in your field of expertise. Then you will be able to figure out if you can make money.
